This repair Time schedule provides the maximum repair times allowed for the Ford 1000 series agricultural tractors. The maximum repair times are based on the use of correct repair procedures and special tools as outlined in the Ford tractor repair manual.
In the calculation of maximum repair times, various allowances have been included as follows:
1. Difficulties encountered one working on used as opposed to new tractors.
2. Tractor drive in/out time.
3. Repair diagnosis time.
4 Steam cleaning prior to disassembly.
5. The use of special tools where recommended.
6. The time required to obtain parts and equipment.
7. The time required for the mechanics personal needs during the day and to cover variations in workflow, fatigue, mechanics skill and uncontrollable delays.
This comprehensive schedule will and able the Times for operation or series of operations to be quickly determined provided the following points are noted.
1. The schedule is divided into 14 parts in accordance with the major assemblies of the tractor.
2. The parts are divided into sections, the first of which covers those operations which can be performed without separating the tractor or removing a major assembly. If tractor option change removal times within a model listing, these times are added as sub operations.
3. As it is not always necessary to dismantle a major assembly in order to effect a specific repair, the maximum repair times are based on sequences which involved a minimum amount of disassembly. These sequences may not always follow those in the repair manual, which details the complete disassembly of all components.
4. The schedule provides for various combinations of repairs carried out at the same time, therefore, certain operations will be listed in more than one section. For example, an engine piston can be replaced with the engine in the tractor or in conjunction with other repairs requiring the engine to be removed and mounted on a stand.
5. The sections in each part are sequentially numbered at the top of each page in each section is divided into operations and sub operations. The operations are numbered in the first two digits indicate part in section respectively to which the operation applies. All operations are complete unto themselves, starting with the tractor in the condition of disassembly outlined in the section description. |
